Members of the team attended a Wilderness First Aid Class hosted by Search and Rescue Dogs of Maryland (SARDOM). All members present passed the required tests and renewed their certifications.  

Call out by Calvert County Sheriff Office for suicidal middle-aged man. The team responded with 3 dog teams, two flankers, and 2 base support. Find made by law enforcement prior to CK-9 deployment. 

Call out by Law Enforcement for missing person. The team responded with 2 canines and 1 flanker. This case is sensitive in nature.

Requested my MSP for a repeat of search for missing 86 YOM. The team responded with 4 canines and 3 flankers. No Find was made 

Call Out by MSP working a cold case cadaver search on 11/16/24 in Prince George's County, MD. We responded with 1 HRD dog team and flanker. This case is sensitive in nature.

K-9 called out by PG county police at 1130 on 28 Oct for a 72 YO female missing since 0830 that morning. We responded with 4 dog teams and 2 flankers along with many other SAR teams all run by the PGCP. About 5:30 PM the police helicopter spotted her walking in the woods alive and well:-) Happy ending to the search.

CK-9 has a fantastic time at Maxwell Hall’s Fall Festival and Colonial Fair this weekend! All dogs ran small areas before guests arrived. The rest of the day was then spent teaching visitors about Search and Rescue K-9s.

At 0130 this dark morning 3 Aug 2024, CK-9 was called out by PG County Police for a 79 YO missing man with dementia. We responded with 3 live find search dog teams and a flanker. Dog teams Sassy, Leyna and Puma completed their first night task assignments and had just started their second assigned tasks at daybreak when news came that the man was happily found alive on someone's porch over a mile away 🙂 ....... Congrats to Team Julia/Puma for making their first official search with Dona flanking.

CK-9 Called out late night by PG county police for a 76 YOM dementia walk away. We deployed Teams Waze, Sassy and Leyna to search for him. He was safely located the next day:-)

Team Toby and Team Bennie (retired) along with Elizabeth went to St. Mary's composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol for a demo and instruct the cadets on how to work with K-9 teams. Lots of fun was had by all and especially Toby and Bennie!

CK-9 had a fantastic time at Maryland Dogfest. Many CGC tests were given throughout the two day event and information provided about the CK-9 Team!

CK-9 called out at 1510 on 27 Mar 2024 by MSP for a 59YOF Dementia missing since early morning. We deployed 4 live find area search dog teams with 6 flankers. They arrived on site at 1700, got task assignments, but just before deploying were notified another MSP search team had made sad find.

Members of CK-9 attended two CFC events this week at Andrews Joint Base and the Pentagon. Teams Toby, Butters, Nova, and Waze had a great time meeting new people and discussing our organization!

CK-9 Advance call out by LT J.M. Hastings CCSO, Indian Head Search Manager for 0730 9 Dec 2023 for an HRD search on shoreline and water for a 25 YOM who disappeared from the naval base in Indian Head on 23 Nov; and his car was recently located in Mattawoman Creek. A multi team search was performed, but no find.
